This book is about the life of our honorable EX- chief Minister by author Bala Jeyaraman. This post contains of few points in the book.

Kamaraja was born in 1903 in Virudhunagar, but it was called Virudhupatti  with his parents Kumar swamy and Sivakami of the Nadar caste. Kamaraja was first studying in a traditional primary school and then moved to a high school called Kshatriya Vidhya Sala. When he was studying class six, he was out of school, because of the financial status of his family. Then he was working for his uncle’s coconut shop. He read swadhesa Mithran new paper while working, so he came to know about the outer world to become a freedom fighter. Then he attended the regional conferences of the congress. But his family did not like him join the congress because his family supported the justice party, so they sent him to Kerla. But still he did not decrease his enthusiasm and he joined many congress marches against the British. Then he became a fulltime congress worker he organized many meetings for the Tamil Nadu congress.

After few years the British announced the dual rule system which means the Indians can also take part in the government, but they can only govern the ministries that the British thought it was minor such as such as education and healthcare, while the Britishers took part in major ministries such as Defense and finance. But the congress party was against this because that they took it as an insult, so the party split into two because some members also wanted to participate in the elections, so the party split into two Swaraj party and the congress party. At last, the dual rule system was abolished, and Indians came to full power though they did not announce official freedom to the nation, so the party merged into once again, then as we know we got freedom in 1947 august. Then in the Tamil Nadu congress Kamaraj was the President of the Tamil Nadu Congress. But still another politician Rajaji was doing many anti- congress activities, so Kamaraj opposed it so, Rajaji took help from Sardar Vallbhai Patel. Patel ji advised Kamaraj to stop opposing Rajaji. so, to become chief minister of Tamil Nadu Rajaji was the candidate but Kamaraj and other few candidates opposed. And then they said they wanted an election. So, a candidate called Prakasam was the chief minister. He made private textile industries suffer a lot, so he lost the next election.

Then after long Kamaraj became chief minister to help many Tamilians and made them study to create the modern Tamil Nadu full of literates. He made the mid meal scheme and opened more than 50 thousand free government schools all over Tamil Nadu. He also created and encouraged many industries all over Tamil Nadu. Many new dams and roads were built, and industrial growth skyrocketed. While that E.V Ramaswamy periyar voluntarily campaigned for Kamaraj because he thought that he was doing good to Tamil Nadu and that is a great opportunity to improve Tamil Nadu. He created the mid meal scheme because when he went for a trip around Tamil Nadu, he saw a boy working on the fields who told him that he can’t eat if he didn’t go for school.

After that he resigned as a chief minister then nominated Venkataraman who would be the president of India in the future. After his resignation he became the Tamil Nadu congress president which was the post he resigned when he became chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Then the DMK and its ally parties were becoming strong and dominated the legislative assembly. He finally rested in peace in 2nd of October 1975.  When he reached his deathbed, he had less than 500₹ even if he was the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
