Alamparai fort which was built by the Arcot nawab is spread over 15 acres, it was a major trading port of Nawabs, it traded saris, ghee and salt. It took just 4 years to build between 1736-1740 then after 10 years it was gifted to French commander Dupleix in 1750 for his support to Nizam Muzaphar Jung. As it was used by the French who was the enemy of British, Robert Clive caught and destroyed this fort in 1760.
